Phato is an ecotourism area in the Terai West Forest Division near Ramnagar. It belongs to the wider Corbett landscape and is managed separately from Corbett Tiger Reserve, so its accommodation and entry permissions need their own checks.
Forest accommodation reported here includes treehouses and other lodging categories. These offer different settings and room arrangements; a Phato booking should specify the actual accommodation category, room configuration and facilities rather than implying that every stay is a treehouse.
The appeal is time in a forest environment, with opportunities for permitted jeep outings and an unhurried overnight break. Wildlife remains unpredictable. Visitors must follow the division’s current route, entry and equipment rules, which may differ from those elsewhere around Corbett.
